After years of speculation and a rigorous search, the decision is final. The Sundance Film Festival is officially moving to Boulder, Colorado, beginning January 2027. For those familiar with Boulder, this news is cause for excitement. The city’s stunning natural beauty, vibrant arts scene, and creative spirit make it a fitting new home for the festival, ensuring that the legacy of independent storytelling will continue to thrive in an inspiring setting.

At BrandStorytelling, we have long been committed to celebrating the power of brand films in conjunction with Sundance, and we are thrilled to continue that tradition in Boulder. The move presents an incredible opportunity to explore new ways to connect, collaborate, and celebrate the ever-evolving landscape of brand-funded content.

What’s Next?

Before the festival bids farewell to Park City, there is still one last opportunity to gather in the place that has hosted it for over four decades. BrandStorytelling will return to Park City from January 21st to 24th, 2026, to celebrate the final Sundance in its longtime home.
